5.6.2023 | The responsibility for awarding government grants for sport science research will transfer from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture to the Academy of Finland. The amendment to Act on the Promotion of Sports and Physical Activity, which entered into force in February 2023, will simplify the application and review process by making it entirely the responsibility of a single organisation. To this end, the Academy of Finland will launch a new Academy Programme for sport science.

29.11.2019 | China-Finland Year of Winter Sports Closing Ceremony will take place at Lappi Areena in Rovaniemi on 3 December 2019. First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tuula Haatainen, Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan will be attending the celebrations.

18.10.2019 | Tiede-ja kulttuuriministeri Hanna Kosonen on nelipäiväisellä vierailulla Pekingissä. Ministerin ohjelman painopisteinä ovat Suomi-Kiina talviurheilun teemavuoteen liittyvät tapahtumat sekä Kiinan kulttuurikeskuksen perustamista koskevan sopimuksen allekirjoittaminen.

10.1.2019 | The year 2019 was designated as the China Finland Year of Winter Sports at the meeting of the Finnish and Chinese presidents in spring 2017. Finland is the first country with which China has agreed on this type of winter sports partnership. The thematic year and the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing are expected to boost Chinese interest in Finnish winter sports expertise.

10.1.2019 | Finland och Kina utsåg 2019 till gemensamt temaår för vintersport när ländernas presidenter möttes våren 2017. Finland är det första land som Kina avtalat om ett vintersportsamarbete med i form av ett gemensamt temaår. Temaåret samt förberedelserna för vinter-OS i Peking 2022 antas öka intresset för Finlands kunnande inom vintersport.

3.12.2019 | Avslutningsfesten för Finlands och Kinas gemensamma temaår för vintersport ordnades i Rovaniemi den 3 december 2019. Forsknings- och kulturminister Hanna Kosonen och Kinas vice premiärminister Sun Chunlan deltog i avslutningen.

29.5.2020 | Forsknings- och kulturminister Hanna Kosonen har beviljat idrottsstipendier till idrottare i vintersportgrenar till ett belopp om sammanlagt 884 000 euro. Det var 101 idrottare som beviljades stipendium. Elva idrottare fick det största stipendiet på 20 000 euro. Dessutom fick 31 idrottare ett stipendium på 10 000 euro och 59 idrottare ett stipendium på 6 000 euro.

10.1.2019 | Vuosi 2019 nimettiin Suomen ja Kiinan väliseksi talviurheilun teemavuodeksi maiden presidenttien tapaamisessa keväällä 2017. Suomi on ensimmäinen maa, jonka kanssa Kiina on sopinut teemavuoden kaltaisesta talviurheiluyhteistyöstä. Teemavuoden ja Pekingin vuoden 2022 talviolympialaisiin valmistautumisen uskotaan lisäävän Kiinan kiinnostusta suomalaiseen talviurheiluosaamiseen.
