6.5.2025 | The Nordic and Baltic ministers of culture convened at an informal meeting on Tuesday 6 May 2025 in Helsinki to discuss the protection of cultural heritage in a crisis or war as part of preparedness work and resilience. Ukraine's Minister of Culture Mykola Tochytskyi attended the meeting as a special guest.

18.3.2025 | The Nordic ministers responsible for sports have signed a joint letter to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The letter states that the Nordic countries will continue to support the organisation financially but are concerned about recent disputes over doping control.

According to the ministers, the situation in Ukraine has deteriorated over the past year.

11.12.2024 | The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC) has selected the sites that will host the new European AI Factories. The AI factory consists of a supercomputer that provides world-class computing power as well as completely new data sources together with a service centre and talent pool.

24.10.2023 | A Barents Scholarship for Cultural Cooperation in Finland has been awarded to Koli Art Residence. The value of the scholarship is EUR 10,000. Barents Scholarships for Cultural Cooperation were awarded on 24 October in Joensuu in Eastern Finland. Scholarships were also awarded to recipients from Sweden and Norway.

25.1.2024 | Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala will attend the opening day of the Tartu Capital of Culture year on Friday 26 January. During her visit, the Minister will also meet the Ministers of Culture of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and the European Commissioner for Culture.
