27.11.2025 | Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will visit New York from 1 to 4 December to strengthen partnerships between Finland and the United States in culture and the creative industries, with a special focus on visual arts.

16.4.2026 | Finland will refrain from participating in the Venice Biennale at the political level if Russia takes part in the Art Exhibition. Participation will be maintained at the level of public officials. Finland emphasises its backing of Ukraine and its commitment to European cooperation.

15.1.2026 | The European Capital of Culture year in Oulu begins with a three-day Opening Festival starting on Friday, 16 January. The programme features nearly 200 events, offering a diverse range of experiences – most of them free of charge and open to people of all ages. Despite continued pressure on general government finances, the proposal maintains investment in education, research and competence.

3.5.2024 | On 3 May, the Ministry of Education and Culture published the 2024 Bildung Review, which compiles statistical and other information on the administrative branch of the Ministry, its development and situation in international comparison. The themes for 2024 are regionality, life cycle and the fields of education and culture. The objective of the annually published review is to create an overall picture of the extensive administrative branch as a whole.

26.10.2021 | The Artists’ Association of Lapland was a scholarship recipient of the Barents Scholarship for Cultural Cooperation. The scholarship amounts to EUR 10,000. The Barents Scholarships for Cultural Cooperation were awarded on Tuesday 26 October in Tromsø, Norway. Four scholarships were awarded.
