The authors decide whether copies (reproductions) of their works may be produced and whether their works may be made available to the public. Authors also decide whether their works can be reproduced or made accessible to the public in translations into another languages or in other literary or artistic genres.
Economic copyright applies to the reproduction of a work and to the making of a work available to the public, which may take the form of transmission to the public (e.g. television, radio, information network), public performance (e.g. concerts, theatre), distribution of copies (e.g. book, CD, DVD), or public display (e.g. an art exhibition).
