9.7.2026 | Undervisningsminister Anders Adlercreutz deltar i det samordningsmöte för det globala utbildningsmålet (SDG 4) som Unesco ordnar i Paris den 10 juli och i uppföljningsmötet för FN:s toppmöte om utbildning.

31.3.2026 | Forsknings- och kulturminister Mari-Leena Talvitie besökte Ukraina den 29 – 31 mars. Minister Talvitie har på inbjudan av Ukraina deltagit i ett kulturmöte i Lviv. På mötesagendan stod frågor som gäller läget inom Ukrainas kultursektor, skyddet av Ukrainas kulturegendom, det internationella samarbetet och de konkreta stödåtgärderna. Under besöket har ministern haft enskilda möten med Ukrainas vice statsminister och kulturminister Tetyana Berezhna och Litauens kulturminister Vaida Aleknavičienė.

24.5.2024 | Forsknings- och kulturminister Sari Multala har beviljat aktörer inom kulturen och de kreativa branscherna 3,3 miljoner euro i statsunderstöd. Strukturstöden är en del av programmet för hållbar tillväxt och de är avsedda för att utveckla innovativa tjänster, produktionsmodeller och verksamhetsformer inom sektorn.

8.5.2026 | The EU ministers responsible for education, youth, culture and sport will meet in Brussels on 11–12 May. Education ministers are expected to adopt a general approach on the next Erasmus+ programme and outline the role of artificial intelligence in education. Other items on the agenda include the EU Youth Dialogue, the new AgoraEU programme, and mental health in sport.

The core objective of the project is to build digital services to support individuals in making educational and career choices and maintaining and developing their competence throughout their careers and lives, as well as to promote a better match between work, competence, and demand and supply of education.

31.3.2026 | Tiede- ja kulttuuriministeri Mari-Leena Talvitie vieraili Ukrainassa 29.–31.3. Ministeri osallistui Ukrainan kutsumana Lvivissä järjestettyyn kulttuurikokoukseen, jossa käsiteltiin Ukrainan kulttuurin tilannetta, kulttuuriperinnön suojelua sekä kansainvälistä yhteistyötä ja konkreettisia tukitoimia. 25.11.2025 | The EU ministers responsible for education, youth, culture and sport will meet in Brussels on 27–28 November. The Council’s agenda includes vocational education and training, the European Education Area, the Erasmus+ programme, the importance of culture for democratic resilience, the AgoraEU programme, and democracy and transparency in sport. The Oulu European Capital of Culture 2026 project will also be presented at the meeting.

18.9.2025 | Nordic media education authorities studied the media literacy skills of citizens in the Nordic countries and the results of the survey will be published in October. Media literacy was a topic of discussion at a Nordic conference organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture on 18 and 19 September.

6.5.2025 | The Nordic ministers of culture and ministers of education and science met in Helsinki on 5 and 6 May as part of Finland's and Åland's 2025 co-presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

26.9.2025 | The Finnish Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will attend the MONDIACULT 2025 conference on 29–30 September. Thousands of policymakers and experts will meet in Barcelona to outline the future of cultural policy.

27.11.2025 | Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will visit New York from 1 to 4 December to strengthen partnerships between Finland and the United States in culture and the creative industries, with a special focus on visual arts.
