2.6.2021 | Uleåborg får titeln Europeisk kulturhuvudstad 2026. Valet görs på rekommendation av en europeisk jury som består av nio oberoende experter inom konst och kultur. Offentliggörandet av juryns rekommendation blev slutpunkten på juryns besök i de kandiderande städerna och ett två dagar långt sammanträde i Helsingfors där valet avgjordes. Tävlingen var en del av programmet i Finlands ordförandeskap i Nordiska ministerrådet 2021 och ordnades i samarbete med LUMA-centrets StarT-program.
