Ministern träffar flera högt uppsatta aktörer inom forskning, högre utbildning och kultur. Målet med besöket är att förbättra samarbetet samt att öppna en dialog med Förenta staterna inom undervisnings- och kulturministeriets sektorer.

15.9.2017 | Prisen för livsverk inom informationsspridning beviljades i år till barnpsykiater, sakkunnigläkare Raisa Cacciatore för betydande informationsspridningsarbete som främjare av en sund barndom och ungdom, samt ett sunt föräldraskap och till konstpedagog Marjatta Levanto för betydande informationsspridningsarbete som banbrytare inom museipedagogik och popularisator av konst. Därutöver beviljades sex informationsspridningspriser.

14.11.2014 | Statspriset i arkitektur, som beviljas av statens arkitektur- och formgivningskommission, har 2014 beviljats till arkitekten Tapani Mustonen. Statspriset i design gick till keramikern Erna Aaltonen. Statens konstpris, som beviljas av statens multidisciplinära konstkommission, gick till Kulttuuriyhdistys Mustekala. Priserna delades ut av kultur- och bostadsminister Pia Viitanen på fredagen i Helsingfors. Varje pris är värt 15 000 euro. Priserna beviljas ur tipsmedel.

4.12.2014 | Finlandsprisen 2014 går till sångerskan Hilja Grönfors, gemensamt till konstnärerna Kalle Hamm och Dzamil Kamanger, teaterregissören Susanna Kuparinen, pianisten Jukka Nykänen, författaren Timo Parvela, seriekonstnären Ville Ranta, filmfotografen Timo Salminen, Konst- och kulturcentret Kaarisilta rf samt rockgruppen Popeda. Kultur- och bostadsminister Pia Viitanen delade ut priserna på torsdagen den 4 december i Helsingfors.

15.4.2009 | Undervisningsministeriet har beviljat statens pris för informationsspridning 2008 till åtta privatpersoner eller grupper för förtjänstfull informationsspridning. Priserna på 10 000 euro delades ut av undervisningsminister Henna Virkkunen.
