19.6.2024 | Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Sandra Bergqvist and representatives of cities, various organisations and young people met at a round table event on Wednesday 19 June to discuss the inclusion and leisure activities of multilingual young people. The aim of the event was to find concrete measures to increase multilingual young people’s inclusion and opportunities for leisure activities.

31.10.2022 | On 3 November, the Ministry of Education and Culture will organise an immigration dialogue where professionals in the arts and culture will discuss issues related to the diversity of cultural services based on their own experiences. The theme is cultural diversity, immigration and inclusion.

3.8.2020 | Rapporteur Jukka Liedes proposes establishing an ethics committee of the cultural sector and placing it in the Arts Promotion Centre. The ethics committee would be an independent body that would prepare principles and guidelines and address ethical issues in the fields of arts and culture. The proposal was submitted to the Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen on 3 August 2020.

12.6.2007 | The committee estimates that 650 more teachers will be needed by the year 2012 so that immigrant education on different levels can be provided as immigration increases. According to the committee, the teacher shortage can be alleviated by supplementing teacher training programmes, ensuring that persons with an immigrant background have access to teacher education, and by widening the possibilities of supplementing teacher qualifications awarded abroad.
