20.12.2012 | Meeting in extraordinary session, the WIPO General Assembly took a landmark decision today to convene a diplomatic conference in 2013 to complete negotiations on a pact to improve access to copyrighted works for the many visually impaired and people with print disabilities around the world. 4.10.2016 | The Marrakesh Treaty, books for blind treaty, entered into force on September 30, 2016, three months after it gained the necessary 20 ratifications or accessions by WIPO member states. More than 75 WIPO member states have signed the Treaty, which was adopted on June 27, 2013 at a diplomatic conference organized by WIPO and hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco in Marrakesh.
