Minister Talvitie to attend 19th Venice Architecture Biennale

Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will visit Venice on 7–9 May. The Minister will open the exhibitions at the Pavilion of Finland and the Nordic Pavilion on 8 May.
At the 2025 Finnish Pavilion exhibition, titled The Pavilion – Architecture of Stewardship, curators Ella Kaira and Matti Jänkälä explore the built environment through the tacit knowledge that is needed for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings.
Minister Talvitie will also attend the opening of the Nordic Pavilion, where performance artist Teo Ala-Ruona and his team have created Industry Muscle: Five Scores for Architecture, a work that combines architecture, installation and performance art. The exhibition is curated by architect Kaisa Karvinen from the Architecture and Design Museum Helsinki.
Held every two years, the Venice Architecture Biennale is the world's largest architecture event. The 2025 Biennale will be open to the public from 10 May to 23 November 2025.
The Nordic Pavilion is co-owned by Finland, Norway and Sweden. The countries commission the exhibitions in alternate years, the Architecture and Design Museum Helsinki being in charge this year. Archinfo, the Information Centre for Finnish Architecture, has commissioned the exhibition for the Pavilion of Finland.
