21.4.2026 | Delegationen för etiska frågor inom idrotten fäster i sitt ställningstagande uppmärksamhet vid våld i anslutning idrott. Delegationen utmanar idrottsaktörerna att vara medvetna om risken för våld och att aktivt agera samt att förebygga spridningen av våldsam supporterkultur och extremiströrelsers verksamhet inom idrotten.

8.3.2024 | I Finland har man under årtionden arbetat målmedvetet för att främja jämställdhet och likabehandling inom idrott och motion. Motions-, idrotts- och ungdomsminister Sandra Bergqvist anser det vara viktigt att denna utveckling inte avtar. Frågan diskuterades på morgonen på internationella kvinnodagen, där minister Bergqvist hade bjudit in idrottare och idrottspåverkare.

2.6.2021 | Uleåborg får titeln Europeisk kulturhuvudstad 2026. Valet görs på rekommendation av en europeisk jury som består av nio oberoende experter inom konst och kultur. Offentliggörandet av juryns  rekommendation blev slutpunkten på juryns besök i de kandiderande städerna och ett två dagar långt sammanträde i Helsingfors där valet avgjordes. Resultatet stod klart onsdagen den andra juni.

22.12.2021 | Undervisnings- och kulturministeriet och Institutet för hälsa och välfärd har uppdaterat rekommendationerna för anordnare av småbarnspedagogik och undervisning, gymnasie- och yrkesutbildning, fritt bildningsarbete och grundläggande utbildning för vuxna samt för yrkeshögskolor och universitet. Regeringen behandlade rekommendationerna vid sitt sammanträde tisdagen den 21 december.
