Moral copyright

Moral rights prohibit derogatory use of a work created by another person.

Moral rights include, for instance, the right to claim authorship, and the right to the integrity of the work. These rights remain with the author even when the author waives the economic rights.

The name of the author shall be mentioned in a manner consistent with the good practice when the work is used publicly, for instance, when the work is performed publicly, or is otherwise made accessible to the public (the right to be recognised as the author of a work).

A work must not be altered in such a way that it insults the author’s literary or artistic value or originality. In addition, a work must not be made accessible to the public in an offensive context or manner (right object to any distortion, modification of, or other derogatory action in relation to the work).
