Central government funding for youth work

Appropriations and budget items in the youth sector in

Youth work has been allocated EUR 71,4 million in the state budget for 2025 of which EUR 18 million is granted to the activities of youth sector organisations with the aim of strengthening the preconditions for civic activities and the youth work of NGOs.

The majority of the funding is channelled through central government transfers and grants. Some of the funding is allocated to youth activities in municipalities as central government transfers used at the municipalities’ discretion. Targeted government are also granted to municipalities.

Government grants are granted to support either activities (general grants) or projects and investments (special grants).
