The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC) has selected the sites that will host the new European AI Factories. The AI factory consists of a supercomputer that provides world-class computing power as well as completely new data sources together with a service centre and talent pool.

The Finnish model for leisure activities offers children and young people free extra-curricular activities as part of their school day. The clubs already reach around one in four students attending comprehensive schools in Finland. The model not only increases children's and young people's engagement in leisure activities, but also improves opportunities for those who have found it difficult to pursue activities, especially if they come from low-income or one-parent families. The first results of the pilot project were collected from eleven municipalities of different sizes in autumn 2024.
Finland a leading country in PIAAC adult population survey

Key information processing skills needed by Finland’s adult population (aged 16 to 65) in different areas of life were assessed in the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). The survey focused on literacy, numeracy and adaptive problem-solving skills. By international standards, Finland ranked at the top in literacy and numeracy skills.
WHO report highlights progress and challenges in improving physical activity levels across the European Union

A new report from WHO “Health-enhancing physical activity in the European Union, 2024” presents the latest data on physical activity across the European Union (EU), reflecting on the progress achieved in making health-enhancing physical activity an integral part of people’s lives. The report reveals that there has been a notable improvement in the implementation of physical activity policies in the EU from 2015 to 2024.
Round table discusses inclusion and leisure activities of multilingual young people

Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Sandra Bergqvist and representatives of cities, various organisations and young people met at a round table event on Wednesday 19 June to discuss the inclusion and leisure activities of multilingual young people. The aim of the event was to find concrete measures to increase multilingual young people’s inclusion and opportunities for leisure activities.
