29.5.2015 | Sanni Grahn-Laasonen (The National Coalition Party), Master of Political Sciences, Member of Parliament, was appointed Minister of Education and Culture in the newly elected government at the presidential session of the Government on Friday. As Minister of Education and Culture, Grahn-Laasonen will handle matters relating to education, science, culture, youth and sport.

24.5.2013 | Ms Krista Kiuru (SD), MP,MSoc Sc, was appointed as the new Minister of Education of Prime Minister Katainen’s Government in the presidential session on Friday. During the same session, the President of the Republic, Sauli Niinistö, granted Jukka Gustafsson (SD) a release from office in Government and as Minister.

19.12.2008 | Ms Henna Virkkunen, Lic.Phil., MP (Nat. Coalition Party) was appointed Minister of Education and Science of the Vanhanen II Cabinet at the Presidential Session last Friday. At the same session, the President accepted the resignation of Sari Sarkomaa, who had asked to be relieved from her duties as Cabinet Member and Minister.

19.4.2007 | Sari Sarkomaa (National Coalition Party), Master of Health Care, Member of Parliament, was appointed Minister of Education and Science and Stefan Wallin (Swedish People's Party), Master of Social Sciences, Member of Parliament, was appointed Minister of Culture and Sport in the newly elected government at the presidential session of the Government on Thursday. Mr Wallin will also be responsible for equality matters which belong to the remit of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

23.9.2005 | Antti Kalliomäki (SDP), Member of Parliament, teacher (Physical Education), was appointed Minister of Education and Science in Matti Vanhanen's Government at the presidential session on Friday. He will transfer from the post of Minister of Finance, while the current Minister of Education and Science Tuula Haatainen will transfer to the position of Minister of Social Affairs and Health.
