Teaching and Learning International Survey – TALIS 2024 – is the OECD’s largest international study concerning teachers and principals/leaders. Finland is participating in TALIS for the third time. In Finland, the national implementation of the study is managed by the Finnish Institute for Educational Research at the University of Jyväskylä. In Finland, staff communicate and organise events for families more often than in most other participating countries. They have now been supplemented with Finland’s national results. 30.10.2024 | Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz will attend the 2024 Global Education Meeting (GEM) organised by UNESCO in Fortaleza, Brazil, on 31 October and 1 November 2024. Brazil is hosting the meeting as part of its G20 Presidency. 15.4.2026 | Riikka Pellinen, PhD., has been appointed as an expert in higher education and science policy at the Embassy of Finland in Seoul. Her three-year term begins on 1 August 2026. 15.3.2019 | As the first ever Nordic country, Finland hosted the International Summit on the Teaching Profession (ISTP) on 14 and 15 March 2019. The Summit brought delegations of ministers and deputy ministers from 21 countries across the world to Finland. Minister of Education and Culture Sanni Grahn-Laasonen and President of the Trade Union of Education Olli Luukkainen led the Finnish delegation. 27.10.2023 | Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala will visit New York and Los Angeles from 30 October to 3 November 2023. Her aim is to deepen cooperation between Finland and the United States in culture, science and the creative sectors.
