17.6.2010 | The Ministry of Education and Culture has appointed Director Rauno Anttila to carry out an inquiry into what type of new organisation is required to continue the work of FRAME, the Finnish Fund for Art Exchange. The ministry has also invited Professor Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Museum Director Juulia Kauste and Artist Professor Hannu Kähönen to support Anttila in his work. The aim of the event was to find concrete measures to increase multilingual young people’s inclusion and opportunities for leisure activities.

16.6.2020 | Tampere, Oulu and Savonlinna are bidding to be nominated as Finland’s candidate for the European Capital of Culture for 2026. The independent panel will convene on 23 and 24 June in Helsinki. At their meeting, the panel will hear the plans of the applicant cities and decide which cities will continue in the race for the next decisive round.

6.11.2019 | Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union is the first to arrange a joint policy debate for the finance and education ministers of EU member states. The debate will take place on 8 November 2019 in Brussels. The ministers will discuss the role of education and training in promoting wellbeing and driving sustainable growth. Finland will be represented by Minister of Finance Mika Lintilä and Minister of Education Li Andersson.
