17.6.2010 | The Ministry of Education and Culture has appointed Director Rauno Anttila to carry out an inquiry into what type of new organisation is required to continue the work of FRAME, the Finnish Fund for Art Exchange. The ministry has also invited Professor Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Museum Director Juulia Kauste and Artist Professor Hannu Kähönen to support Anttila in his work. The group will issue its report by 31 December 2010.

8.12.2015 | The Minister of Education and Culture Sanni Grahn-Laasonen awarded the Finland Prize to seven artists who have shown exceptional accomplishment. Among this year’s prize recipients were Finnish contemporary classical music composer Aulis Sallinen and actress Birgitta Ulfsson. 1.2.2021 | Finland proposes listing a set of 13 sites representing Alvar Aalto’s humane architecture as a cultural heritage site on the tentative list of UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The holy place of worship of Ukonsaari by the Saami people in Inari will remain on the list of sites on the national tentative list.
