State Award for Public Information conferred to seven contributors to community-relevant information

Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie has presented seven State Awards for Public Information in acknowledgment of the dissemination of significant public information. The award ceremony will be celebrated on 8 June in Oulu, which is a European Capital of Culture this year.

Evaluation of National World Heritage Strategy: successful implementation, impact needs to grow

The evaluation of Finland’s National World Heritage Strategy (2015–2025) finds that implementation has been broad‑based and substantive. The strategy has reinforced Finland’s standing as a responsible steward of world heritage and deepened cooperation between world heritage sites. The findings and the role of the strategy were discussed at the World Heritage Forum in Vaasa.

Finland to limit participation in Venice Biennale due to participation by Russia

Finland will refrain from participating in the Venice Biennale at the political level if Russia takes part in the Art Exhibition. Participation will be maintained at the level of public officials. Finland emphasises its backing of Ukraine and its commitment to European cooperation.

Charlotta Collén appointed Director of International Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Culture

On 4 June, the Government appointed Charlotta Collén (Lic.Soc.Sc) Director General of the Secretariat for International Relations with effect from 1 August 2026. The Director is responsible for directing the activities of the Secretariat for International Relations at the Ministry.

Satakunta Museum showcases 3D models of prehistoric artefacts for educational use

Satakunta Museum is digitising its prehistoric collections into three-dimensional format as part of the European Twin it! campaign. The project, funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, aims to improve access to cultural heritage by presenting historical objects to a wider audience, and by supporting education and research through digital solutions.
