Thomas Sund appointed as Director of Communications at the Ministry of Education and Culture

The Finnish Government has appointed Thomas Sund, Master of Political Science and Communications Manager, as the Director of Communications at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Sund will begin his five-year term at the start of 2025.

Thomas Sund transitions to the role of Director of Communications at the Ministry of Education and Culture from his current position as Communications Manager at the Ministry of Finance. He has previously served as Communications Director for the City of Kerava, Communications Manager at Hansel Ltd, and in communications roles at the Ministry of Defence. Additionally, he has experience in administration and marketing.

As Director of Communications, Sund will lead and develop the ministry's communications and oversee its strategic planning. His responsibilities will also include communication collaboration within the government and across the ministry's administrative branch.

The position of Director of Communications attracted 103 applicants.
