Six proposals selected for stage two of the Winter War Memorial competition

Proposals submitted by the following individuals have been chosen for the second and final stage of the Winter War Memorial competition: Abel Groenewolt, Pekka Kauhanen, Olli Mantere, Kai van der Puij, Timo Ripatti, and Anssi Pulkkinen.

The objective of the art competition is to obtain proposals for a national memorial for the Winter War to be located in the Kasarmitori square in Helsinki. The first stage of the competition was an idea competition for which a total of 258 proposals were submitted. Stage two of the competition, intended for further development of the ideas, will end on 27 November 2013.

The unveiling of the memorial is scheduled for 13 March 2015, the 75th anniversary of the end of the Winter War.

All proposals submitted for the competition will be displayed in an exhibition in Kamppi, Helsinki (Runeberginkatu 4 C) after the completion of stage two of the competition.
