Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will attend an informal meeting of EU ministers of culture in Warsaw on 7 and 8 April. The meeting will continue the discussion on the protection of cultural heritage, especially from the perspective of the situation in Ukraine.

At their meeting in Ukraine at the beginning of February, the ministers of culture initiated a discussion on the protection of cultural heritage. The meeting adopted a declaration on the importance of culture for resilience and culture as part of the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Cooperation between the European Union, its Member States and Ukraine will continue at the informal meeting of the ministers of culture in Warsaw, which the Ukrainian Minister of Culture will also attend. The Ministers will discuss Ukraine's experiences in protecting its cultural heritage and safeguarding its cultural heritage from the effects of natural and human-induced disasters, including the reconstruction of Ukraine's cultural heritage.

The ministers will also discuss the Commission's initiative to create a more strategic framework for culture, which would allow culture to be integrated into general policy objectives. The Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU will present the results of an analysis commissioned by Poland’s Ministry of Culture on the situation of young artists in the labour market of the EU Member States.
