They conferred forty-seven Bronze Awards, ten Silver Awards and three Gold Awards.

13.9.2007 | A budget of EUR 6,888.9 million has been proposed for the sector of the Ministry of Education in the draft State budget, an increase of EUR 324.6 million over the current year. The year 2008 will be devoted to improving the quality of basic education and expanding vocational education. An increase in the operating budgets of universities is a key element in the emphasis on competencies. Improvements will be made in student financial aid in accordance with the Government programme.

Academy Professor Hanski works at the University of Helsinki, where he directs the Centre of Excellence in Metapopulation Research. 2.12.2013 | Average mathematical literacy among Finnish school students ranked in twelfth place among the 65 participating countries in the PISA 2012 assessment. In 2003, when mathematics was previously the focus of study, Finland came in second place. The national average score in mathematics has decreased significantly since the 2003 assessment. Reading and science literacy have also deteriorated markedly.
