29.11.2019 | China-Finland Year of Winter Sports Closing Ceremony will take place at Lappi Areena in Rovaniemi on 3 December 2019. First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tuula Haatainen, Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan will be attending the celebrations.

10.1.2019 | The year 2019 was designated as the China Finland Year of Winter Sports at the meeting of the Finnish and Chinese presidents in spring 2017. Finland is the first country with which China has agreed on this type of winter sports partnership. The thematic year and the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing are expected to boost Chinese interest in Finnish winter sports expertise.

The report commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the City of Helsinki, the foundation for the Design Museum and the foundation for the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Architecture Information Centre was submitted to Sampo Terho, Minister for European Affairs, Culture and Sport, and Jan Vapaavuori, Mayor of Helsinki, on 21 August.

National Youth Work and Youth Policy Programme has been adopted - OKM - Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland

12.10.2017 | In its resolution of 12 October, the Government outlined measures to be taken to promote young people’s growth and living conditions during the remainder of the government term. The National Youth Work and Youth Policy Programme is a cross-sectoral programme drawn up under the new Youth Act. The programme will be adopted as a government resolution every four years. As the Youth Act was amended during the current government term, the first programme now adopted covers only the period 2017–2019.

23.11.2017 | The Ministry of Education and Culture has decided to enter 52 elements in the National Inventory of Living Heritage. The National Inventory will be supplemented at regular intervals, and it will be opened for new proposals in 2019 at the earliest. It is later possible for the elements listed in the National Inventory of Living Heritage to be nominated for inscription on UNESCO’s international lists of intangible cultural heritage.
