    6.4.2020 | The Government will continue to impose restrictions on contact teaching at all levels of education. This means that the exceptional arrangements for education will be extended until 13 May. Teaching will continue to be organised in alternative ways by means of distance learning and other similar arrangements. The Government still recommends that children in early childhood education and care, pre-primary education and in years 1 to 3 of comprehensive school education stay at home, if possible.

The Forum gathers experts on literacy and other parties involved with the issue. An appropriation of one million euros is granted to the Literacy Forum.

    28.9.2020 | Lower fees in early childhood education and care will increase employment and raise the participation rate in early childhood education and care. The first steps in the preparations for the Government proposal to reduce early childhood education and care (ECEC) fees are to raise the income thresholds by 31%. At the same time, the maximum fee for a family’s second child in ECEC will be reduced from 50% to 40%.
