10.8.2020 | The European expert panel has published its pre-selection report on the applications of the three candidate cities Oulu, Savonlinna and Tampere and suggestions for the second and decisive phase. According to the letter sent by Minister of Science and Culture Annika Saarikko, the cities should revise and complete their applications by 23 April 2021. The expert panel will visit the cities in May 2021.

The Davos Declaration promotes and advocates interest in high-quality design and construction of built environments, which embrace cultural expressions of buildings and environmental planning while also fulfilling functional, technical and economic requirements. The Davos Declaration was originally published in 2018 in connection with the World Economic Forum.

Minister of Culture and Sport Paavo Arhinmäki, who is visiting the fair, opened the #FocusFinland programme on Wednesday afternoon. The programme consists of exhibitions from 13 art galleries, the Kiasma Lounge and the #FocusFinland Pavilion, as well as an extensive lateral programme.
