Brasilien står värd för mötet som en del av sitt G20-ordförandeskap. 10.1.2024 | Suomen seuraava Unescon ihmiskunnan aineettoman kulttuuriperinnön luetteloon vietävä kohde koskee Tornionjoen perinteistä lippokalastusta. Rajajoen elävää perintöä koskeva esitys valmistellaan yhteistyössä Ruotsin kanssa, joka myös koordinoi monikansallista hakemusta. Tavoitteena on, että hakemus toimitetaan Unescolle maaliskuussa 2025.

10.1.2024 | Finlands nästa kandidat för Unescos representativa lista över mänsklighetens immateriella kulturarv är Torneälvens håvfisketradition. Förslaget om gränsälvens levande fiskekulturarv bereds i samarbete med Sverige, som också samordnar den multinationella ansökan. Målet är att lämna in en multinationell ansökan till Unesco i mars 2025.

15.12.2021 | UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee has inscribed Kaustinen folk fiddle playing to its Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at its currently ongoing meeting in Paris on December 15. The Nordic clinker boat tradition, which Finland proposed for inscription together with the other Nordic countries, was also inscribed. Currently, UNESCO’s lists of intangible cultural heritage include more than 600 elements from around the world.

6.12.2023 | Den mellanstatliga kommittén för tryggande av det immateriella kulturarvet har utsett kunskapen, färdigheterna och tekniken i anslutning till handtillverkat glas till Unescos representativa lista över mänsklighetens immateriella kulturarv. I Finland svarar undervisnings- och kulturministeriet för ärenden som gäller det immateriella kulturarvet och Museiverket för verkställandet av konventionen. 17.12.2020 | Finland’s sauna culture was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 17 December 2020. The decision was made by an intergovernmental committee consisting of representatives of 24 State Parties. This is Finland's first inscription on the UNESCO Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

1.2.2021 | Finland proposes listing a set of 13 sites representing Alvar Aalto’s humane architecture as a cultural heritage site on the tentative list of UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The holy place of worship of Ukonsaari by the Saami people in Inari will remain on the list of sites on the national tentative list.

6.12.2023 | Aineettoman kulttuuriperinnön hallitustenvälinen komitea on nimennyt käsityönä valmistettuun lasiin liittyvän tiedon, taidon ja tekniikan Unescon ihmiskunnan aineettoman kulttuuriperinnön luetteloon. Suomessa aineettomaan kulttuuriperintöön liittyvistä asioista vastaa opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö ja sopimuksen toimeenpanosta Museovirasto, joka myös koordinoi hakemusprosesseja.

13.10.2021 | Finlands nationella kommitté för Unescos Världsminnesregister och Finlands Unesco-kommission understöder Ålands landskapsregerings förslag, att Rederibolaget Gustaf Eriksons arkiv 1913–1947 upptas i Unescos internationella Världsminnesregister.

25.3.2020 | The nomination entitled “Kaustinen folk fiddling tradition and related practices and expressions” has been prepared by the Finnish Heritage Agency in cooperation with the Finnish Folk Music Institute and communities practicing the tradition. Finland’s nomination was signed by Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen.

29.3.2019 | The Ministry of Education and Culture nominates Finnish sauna bathing for inscription on UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Finnish Heritage Agency together with sauna associations has drawn up the nomination proposal, Sauna Culture in Finland. Minister of Culture Sampo Terho has signed Finland’s proposal. The decision on whether the nomination is accepted will be received in December 2020.

15.12.2021 | Unescos mellanstatliga kommitté har under det pågående sammanträdet i Paris den 15 december upptagit fiolspelstraditionen från Kaustby i Unescos lista för representativt immateriellt kulturarv. Även den nordiska traditionen att bygga båtar på klink, som Finland lämnat in en ansökan om tillsammans med de övriga nordiska länderna, upptogs i förteckningen. Unescos listor över det immateriella kulturarvet omfattar redan över 600 kulturarv runtom i världen.

5.9.2023 | Opetusministeri Anna-Maja Henrikssonin ensimmäinen ulkomaan matka suuntautuu Pariisiin 5. syyskuuta. I Finlands huvudanförande på onsdagen lyfte undervisningsministern fram rättighetsperspektivet i Unescos verksamhet och organisationens arbete för att genomföra Agenda 2030, de globala målen för hållbar utveckling samt stödet till medlemsländerna för att klara av de utmaningar pandemin medfört.

13.11.2023 | Liikunta-, urheilu- ja nuorisoministeri Sandra Bergqvist osallistuu YK:n kasvatus- tiede- ja kulttuurijärjestö Unescon yleiskokouksen yhteydessä järjestettävän nuorisofoorumin ministeriosuuteen Pariisissa 14.-15.11.2023. 17.12.2020 | Bastutraditionen i Finland har den 17 december 2020 utsetts till Unescos representativa lista över mänsklighetens immateriella kulturarv Beslutet fattades av en mellanstatlig kommitté bestående av företrädare för 24 länder. Elementet är Finlands första i Unescos listor över det immateriella kulturarvet.

Lisäksi nimettiin pohjoismainen limisaumaveneperinne, jota Suomi haki luetteloitavaksi yhdessä muiden Pohjoismaiden kanssa. Unescon aineettoman kulttuuriperinnön luetteloissa on jo yli 600 kohdetta eri puolilta maailmaa.
